Born and bred in the Kent countryside and spending my childhood surrounded by animals and parents who were keen gardeners it was enevitable that I would end up in an outdoor profession as being indoors or sitting still was never going to happen!
Agriculture came first which whilst at college I learnt all about the soil and how to grow crops which translates equally to horticulture. Then a change of scenery and I went into the building trade (mainly just to get a normal 5 day a week job) where I learnt about the hard landscaping (patios, walls, fencing etc.) which still comes in handy today. When the building trade went into recession, I decided to go to self employed as a gardener/handy man and one of the first jobs I got was at the convent at Filsham Road, where I can still be found today and will always be grateful. From the start they were very supportive and when I got a replanting job at Tenterden but had to go to a well known, expensive local garden centre to buy the plants, I thought I can do this better and so the plant sales at Filsham Road began, starting with a few plants to the near-on 100,000 plants that I now sell.
I consider myself very fortunate to have a very loyal customer base including idividual households, pubs proterty developers to large corporate companies.
So, if I can be of any assistance whether it’s just general advice to redesigning a garden then please get in touch.
